Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Residents of the apartment at West Clifton and Detroit smelled smoke, and called Lakewood Fire Department. Detroit was closed between Owego and West Clifton.

Answering very quickly the Firefighters empties the building while checking every apartment and roof.

Firefighters come down from the roof.

In the end, LFD opened Detroit, and went about checking the building out.

Follow up to fire.

A firefighter working at station 2 looked out the widow and saw flames that looked like they were coming through the roof
A hose line was stretched up the outside stairs a a fire burning on the roof was extinguished
No damage to the inside of the building.

No one hurt.

Great eyes and work Lakewood Fire and Police Departments!

Workmen working on the roof fixing leaks, melting tar started the fire.
