Over in South Euclid they have lots of issues with government transparency, resistance to providing public records upon request, and just a general disregard for the rights of citizens. (Sound familiar?)

Anyway, the law director there, angry at citizen activists, instituted a defamation suit against three activists.

IT DID NOT GO WELL.

The suit was tossed and the rights of the citizens were upheld. But, the man who brought the frivolous defamation suit was sued for bringing it and he was forced to settle. Although the amount is confidential, the activists were apparently compensated for the costs they incurred from the frivolous lawsuit.

Lakewoodites aren't buying Team Summers shenanigans any longer. It's backfiring big time.

But let's look on the bright side today. We are moving FORWARD! We have new voices on council, voices that know BSL is bogus and really thinly veiled racism, voices that will demand open meetings and government transparency, voices that still believe in integrity, and voices that want to SERVE THEIR CONSTITUENTS, not treat them with arrogance.

I'm optimistic that changes will be forthcoming.

You won't see any basketball games at Kaufman Park. You can thank Mr.Summers for this. I believe this was done for his good friend Mr. Heller.

As for Mr. O'Malley, it appears he cannot rid his ward of graffiti or bed bug infestations. I don't believe he will say a word. I'm sure he has lawyered up for what is coming in the future.
