Foundation Task Force Community Forum

Post by bentleymike »

3 weeks from today, the task force will be hosting a community forum.

The focus will be primarily around the community engagement report released last week, types of structures, communications, followed up by discussion groups.

It will be held Wednesday, November 15 at Garfield Middle School from 7-8:30 pm.

The link for the event is here: http://bit.ly/2x34Xxr

I do encourage everyone to attend. This is truly a step to the future, and everyone's input is important.

Here is the event flyer, also. I hope all can attend, as it is vitally important we get everyone's input.

No reason to go. I believe this "deal" was planned for and signed off on a few years ago.

It appears that the Lakewood citizens have no voice under this corrupt administration.

Remember when they wanted our input on the hospital and claimed that they had not made up their minds yet? I believe the secret city hall e-mails that have been posted here on the Deck says it all.

We have a few law suits still pending and a criminal investigation currently being conducted by the Attorney General's office for the State of Ohio regarding voter fraud occurring in the last two Lakewood elections. If city hall has nothing to hide, why not wait until the investigation is complete before moving forward?

Does city hall know something we don't know? You have to wonder.

Lori,

I'm really, really sorry that you feel that way.

All that I can tell you is that, since I was asked to join in May, my fellow task force members and I have collectively worked our asses off to figure out what the community needs and wants from the foundation. I am involved in the community engagement (and did a bunch of interviews with those in the report, including a group of those who were starkly against the closing of the hospital), structure, and chair the communications subcommittee of the task force, so I can tell you every bit of work by the task force, up to this point, is kosher.

Even if you didn't agree to how we got here, this is an important step to our community's future. We've pushed to be transparent and open with what we're doing here. I want everyone involved in this, because the last thing any of us on the task force want is for this to get screwed up, or for there to be misinformation. We feel we've reached a critical phase of what we've found, and giving those who haven't attended a full task force or subcommittee meeting, insight on what we've been doing. We're about to start getting into nitty-gritty, which is why we want and need the community's feedback on an ongoing basis.

If you have questions, concerns, or general feedback, please reach out to me.

I feel your pain, so many charades, so much wasted time.

BUT

Mr. Bentley has assured me this one is different and I know he has made similar offers to others that doubt his sincerity and his truth on what they have been willing to do, and every naysayer has walked away from the meetings saying, "I hope he is right, his heart is in the right place." I have watched some of the biggest doubters of this administration quiz him for over an hour, and he has answered every question he can.

We also need some people to go, otherwise, no one knows what is talked about and then, charades become even easier.

Take him up on his offer for a meeting.
