Laddies and Gentlemen,
There is a knock at the door, will you open that door and welcome the energy, the growth, and all the good that it brings, into your home? ? Or will you close that door. , and throw away cash at your feet, prestige, security and safety, Lakewood could be, it is already, the least known, best kept secret in all of the North Eastern Ohio area. Lakewood residents, you have work to do. make your rentals propeties the best they can be,m and charge for it, this is not Detroit.. YOUR RENTALS BETGTER THAN THE OTHERS, GET DOUBLE THE RENT, AND THE BETER TENANTS.
Wonderful Lakewood, But yet, Here it is Christmas time, We all know that advertising and location is priceless, a vein directly into to the heart of Lakewood , Why doesn't all of LAKEWOOD, get involved, and do a "TRUE LIGHT UP LAKEWOOD" ceremony? Why just Detroit? there is a lot more to Lakewood than just Detroit, Madison, Grace, Wyandot, Manor Park, We could be the most lighted up city in the USA. but you have to do your part, the Beer Engine is, light it up. Look how festive Bob's Beer Engine display is, it adds so much to the neighborhood, who is more festive that is? they can't get a burger right, JUST kidding, but they sure do look good. Why doesn't every property light up? Whatever the shape of the structure, the year, the style, doesn't matter., light it up. Your kids would say, daddy, lets drive down Madison, to see the lights.. GET INVOLVED. .

Unfortunately, citizens are not allowed to get involved under a Mayor Summer's dictatorship!

Re: `LIGHT UP LAKEWOOD"
Let me share with you my interesting experience with Light up Lakewood last night . . we went with neighbors who just bought a bigger house and are looking for furniture, decorative items. We walked from our street to the event. Along the way, we approached Plantation Home and thought it would be a good stop for someone looking to furnish a larger house. As we approached the door (a little after 6:00 p.m.), David Stein came out and picked up the sign that was in front of the store. So I asked, "Are you closing?" and he snipped back, "yes" and shut the door in our faces . . .my neighbor said that she is always reluctant to go to either of his stores because she feels that the owners are snobby and bitchy. Of course, I don't frequent either store because of Stein's affiliation with "Build Lakewood". I guess with his couple hundred thousand dollar landscaping job that he's been promised by the Mayor, that he can afford to shut the door of his business in someone's face.
We plan on telling as many of our friends and neighbors as possible as to what having a business door slammed into your face feels like on such a festive and busy night . . .

Wow! What a "businessman!"
I would think being open as people passed by on a fun and busy night would be beneficial to his business.
Must not need you!

I spoke with some of my black friends and asked them what they thought of the words plantation and cotton. They told me slavery.
