"Let us not become weary in doing good,..

Post by Brian Essi »

...for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9--H R Clinton quote on November 9, 2016 in her concession.

Here's what her running mate, Tim Kaine, said in his concession speech, according to NPR:

"There is a — there's a beautiful and kind of comical parable in the New Testament about a vineyard owner who hires people to work and says, 'And I'm going to pay you this for a full day.' Then he hires people at noon — 'I'm going to pay you the same thing for the half day.' Then he hires people one hour before and — 'I'm going to pay you the same.' And those who started early in the day say, 'Hold on. We don't like this. That you're treating everybody who came late just as well as you're treating us.' I'm going to tell you something, here's what I've come to know so well about Hillary."
"The team that she has assembled over the years of people that are so deeply loyal to her because she's so deeply loyal to them is inspiring,"
he said.

It would seem that Tim Kaine was comparing Hillary to God herself. If so, that's pretty sad.

Clinton failed her party and her constituents--she had no real message that did not focus on herself or her deep hatred of Trump and even "the people who voted for Trump." (Hillary's words, not mine).

Many people who decided the slim "victory" of the election made up the base of the Democrat party.

It is ironic that Clinton who evidenced distain for religion quoted scripture the day after evangelical voters played a role in defeating her weak campaign agenda. It seemed contrived.

Back to Lakewood--if we practice what Clinton was preaching (and ignore the damage she did):

All of those who were "doing good" in Lakewood to protect the most vulnerable among us and work for better government should not give up.

Unlike the Clinton campaign, the Lakewood movement was not and is not about one person---it is about good vs. bad government.

48.5% of Lakewood voted against 100% of the elected leaders practicing very bad government that resulted in a very bad deal.

The 48.5% should carry on with the good it has been pursuing.

That's good advice but don't hope for too much.

Corrupt local government is very difficult to dislodge. For some strange reason it was important to the "media", to the political leadership and to our Cuyahoga County government to move 1,500 jobs and millions in economic activity to Lorain County.

The people of Save Lakewood Hospital waged a great campaign.

I wonder.... now that we lost should we burn down buildings, threaten to kill police officers, riot in the streets and accuse the opposition of stuffing ballot boxes?

It would be so ... Progressive

"Cleveland, it's time for our protest of Mr. Trump. Let's show him that it's not professional protesters, it's the people speaking out."
Who do you think said this? Kucinich? Cuyahoga County Progressve Caucus?

It was Tom Bullock. Imagine what he'd be saying if SLH were to protest the local referendum vote.

Tom Bullock's only interest is his own ambition

And that sounds an awful lot like president-elect Trump.
