Nothing is farther from the truth and you know it as do an ever growing number of Lakewoodites.
While many believe you are the spokes person "For 64" I and others realize you have know real knowledge of any of it.
But keep it coming, I love the Corey Rossen/Lakewood Voters for Progress brand that is growing in Lakewood.
More and more everyday residents seeing LVP more clearly through your actions and words here on the Deck.

Mike
I would just saying a vote for is rewarding bad behavior, and giving our trust to people they do not trust us enough to be honest.
The biggest issue in Lakewood is not the hospital, by the secrecy and lies of government that cost us our largest employer and hospital.

To be fair
Many people think Brian is part of SLH, he also said he was not.

OK and here is why we are "The Observers!"

I will ask again. Prove me wrong. What is the plan if against 64 passes? You have had many chances and instead of showing a plan you display hate, and flail your arms in frustration over not having an answer as you just proved.
Given this opportunity again to state your plan - you failed. You hate Lakewood, and want to win at all costs, even if that means not having a plan.
Plan if against 64 passes. Go.

City Hall has been planing since 2010 to close Lakewood Hospital. September 2014 Mayor Summers got the 3rd? 8th? copy of the LOI he, Council President Madigan, Tom Bullock and John Litten had worked on an known about.
What is their plan? Siphon of money for yet to be named...?
I am not a member of either, but it seems obvious to me that just enforcing the contract, the state auditor claimed existed, would get us more money and 10 years to plan.
To ask an adhoc group of residents that knew about the scheme for only 6 months to come up with a solution is absurd!
The mother that stumbled on "Love Canal" was forced to come up with a way to clean it up. Just report it and get the legal process going.
This is why the paperwork, and the truth is so important. You and city council, and the rest are being asked to make a decision worth as much as $350 million, with none of the facts. Everything coming from city hall is inflated.
It should bother every Lakewoodite to the bone, that the only facts coming out about this deal is from the lawsuit. Every fact.
Each page being fought, hidden, lied about, yet each page paints a darker and darker picture of the sell out.
I'm with you, let's get this over with.
CITY HALL RELEASE THE DOCUMENTS or we should all VOTE AGAINST 64, it is the last chance for honest government.

Corey,
"Hello"! Is there anybody in there?
If Issue 64 "wins", or is approved, then you have to talk to Mayor Summers about what is next...no healthcare for the poor and needy, no inpatient services in Lakewood, outrageous bills from CCF if they don't accept your insurance plan, multiple ambulance rides/charges, long waits for a bed at Fairview. Basically, a healthcare desert here in Lakewood...all in the name of "progress".
If Issue 64 "loses" and the ordinance is rejected, then we have a chance to offer more options to the people of Lakewood. Heck, maybe, just maybe, there will be a healthcare provider in town that will accept my insurance because the CCF surely DOES NOT ACCEPT MY INSURANCE PLAN. All the back room deals, all the lies, the CCF monopoly in Lakewood, the decanting plan etc. are all rejected.
Back to the drawing board Mayor Summers and City Council! You better believe we will be watching your every move.

I never read that if the voters win, the Clinic, or any other group would turn their back on Lakewood.
I know it is hard to believe, but doing NOTHING, nets us, the residents more money. Just closing the door and saying screw it.
That is why this deal is crazy.
Had we shut the doors we could have potentially reacquire LHF funds for the hospital, reacquire LHS funds for the hospital, sold of the contents, the lists, the property, and still ended up with local hospitals willing to come to Lakewood and set up shop. Do you really think they are going to let 53,000 residents go somewhere else?
What could the city have done with $340 million, and 10 acres in downtown Lakewood? A hell of a lot more than with $16.7 million in a private foundation we cannot control and 6.5 acres.
I cannot believe how bad City Hall screwed this thing up. It was so bad we need to see the documents.
Our only hope now that the Mayor has fought honesty and showing the documents for 2 years, is to stop the deal, and look at all of our options.
I do not like governing by referendum, but Mayor Summers and Council has left us no choice. They will not be honest and forthcoming, residents need to step up and step in.
Corey, you asked what happens on the 9th, let me assure you nothing good if we cannot trust city hall.

Okay, great, this is a start.cameron karslake wrote:Corey,

"A chance to offer" does not sound too promising or positive. What do you mean by this? A chance for what exactly? How long will this chance take to evolve?
"Maybe, just maybe" again does not sound too promising or positive. What provider? How long will it take to bring a provider into town that will accept your insurance?
I think my questions are valid to ask, I'm not sure why against 64 hates the questioning. In the end, you want accountability and so do I.
I can understand your personal vendetta against the Clinic because they do not accept your insurance (as you state in all caps so you must be upset) but I do not think it warrants taking insurance rights away from others who are provided coverage. I understand that you feel differently because you are the one affected by lack of coverage - this goes against your statement of helping poor and needy people (who may be covered by Clinic policies).

Nice catch on all caps, why the Deck is so valuable. It is not just our thoughts and ideas, but why we have them and justify them.
I think we are talking apples and oranges and this has happened way to often in these discussions. Ambulance times, two different by real scenarios, both sides correct, but sold as absolutes by both sides.
Save Lakewood Hospital, from my conversations, is trying to save the framework of the Hospital that was not losing money, and figure things out. a reboot.
Many more supporting the effort of the Against 64 group, Know it is our last chance to hold the city accountable for this deal, that right or wrong looks pretty wrong.
As strange as it sounds, Voting Against 64 Could Be The Last Time Mayor Summers Can Clear Up His Legacy. (well played or what?)
Lakewood Voter's For Progress should be with them. In the end they are only trying to get more money for the future. How is that bad?
Everyone in the city should want a better deal.
