Joan

Had I known I had a single home for rent I could have gotten you in to.

Just because The Beck Center couldn't find the money does not mean WE could not find the money. As I mentioned earlier I have friends that have been seriously looking at McKinley.

Is the same crowd defending the decision to move Beck Center to Westake also defending the Clinics move to Avon?

If everything is somewhere else why not move where everything is?

Will no one stand up for Lakewood?

Beck's economic benefit to Lakewood, is about $10 million/year. Per Cindy Einhouse.

Lakewood Hospital's economic benefit to Lakewood, is about $288 million/year (Cleveland Clinic's numbers, not mine.)

I believe Summers and Company stole the hospital from us and Beck is still here. It appears there was more of a reward for Summers and Company to deal with CCF then there was at trying to steal the Beck Center. Who knows what the future will bring with this group!

THE BECK CENTER has survived for many years at it's current Lakewood location, I am proud that they are here, adding an element that we need, Yet, I'm surprised the Beck Center leaders haven't got the morels or conscience, the fellowship to continue to be a landmark, a staple, a friend and family to Lakewood. For what? Glamour? What about tradition, if that is all you think of us, then go. Much like Miller's Restaurants, The Detroit Theater, Manner's Big Boy Restaurant.

At best, open an outlet, a facility in Westlake, but leave your roots, your heart here in Lakewood, just as it is now.

The current Lakewood Center could devote itself to off the wall plays, shows, much like the Cedar Lee Theater, or the Capital Theater in Gordon Square, or the soon to be renovated, The Varity Theater, on Lorain Rd. Don't abandon an asset, but instead make it a "one of the kind" menu of entertainment on the Western Edge of Lakewood, in your home.
