Reminder - Kickoff Event Tonight - Lkwd Insiders Rebrand As “Lkwd Voters For Progress” Ahead Of Hospital Referendum
The dark money group “Lakewood Voters for Progress” has announced a “Kickoff Event” fundraiser to be held at Rozi’s Wine House on August 24. This is your chance to rub shoulders with the very people who acted in concert to destroy Lakewood Hospital.

About Lakewood Voters for Progress
Our purpose is to win the referendum vote (by voting FOR the ordinance) in November 2016.
In 2015, Lakewood residents joined arms to support a forward-looking redevelopment plan for the Lakewood Hospital campus that will preserve dozens of medical services and attract new economic activity in our downtown for years to come--all while protecting taxpayers.
In 2016, our work continues. Please sustain the progress made in 2015 by supporting our 2016 efforts to provide Lakewood residents with accurate, clear facts about the redevelopment plan.
Any "Observer" gonna cover this? Would be great to have someone post video of the speeches.

One can certainly hope this is the beginning of many truthful statements.
However one can not help but notice, they seem to have not a care in the world about understanding how we got here, and why some think they settled for the low price.
If we as a city are not concerned how we liquidated $350 million in public assets, for $19.7 million, in secret, behind closed doors, the city has no real future for residents.
How a city that just spent $175 million on education, knowledge, and transparency, not care about losing $300 million in the single biggest deal in 50 years, means insiders can do anything they want, when ever they want, however they want.
No one wants to move on more than I. No one wants to believe in our future than I. But we still have some things that has to be shown to the public.
We are too smart, too intelligent to let this one slide under the rug.

Boy, I cannot wait until I see, hear, read all the "accurate, clear facts about the redevelopment plan"!
Finally!
What on earth took them so long to do this?
Please explain how a city can distill 100s of millions of $ down to 10s of millions of $ and call it "good news".
I'm all ears...

It's nice to have a list of which local politicians endorse medical redlining.
Many of these so-called "Democrats" like to pretend that racism is just a GOP thing.

Technically (and for the record) ... Peter Grossetti didn't write that, Peter Grossetti cut and pasted that from various online LVP sources.

Just two hours to the big event. Will there be a red carpet to welcome this grand cabal of dark money, conflicted Lakewood Insiders? Who will toast? Who will speak? The excitement builds!cmager wrote:The dark money group “Lakewood Voters for Progress” has announced a “Kickoff Event” fundraiser to be held at Rozi’s Wine House on August 24. I hope that whichever gray eminence gives the first toast, that he or she invokes " the greater good". That would lend the proceedings some authenticity.cmager wrote:Just two hours to the big event. I also hope that if kate e parker is scheduled to speak, that "Lakewood Voters for Progress" would forgo the sign language interpreter. That would be prudent.

Exactly what issue is this group promoting? There is no ballot language that has been accepted by the Board of Elections much less the Secretary of State.
I would hope that the Mayor and Council would do their fiduciary responsibility, recognize the predicament, join the Save Lakewood Hospital in the lawsuit and fight the common enemy== CCF.
Let me set some opening bargaining chips---- $1 billion in damages against the CCF, accept $300 mil and put that in a trust fund (no way should Lakewood City Government be entrusted with any settlement) and that money be put into the sewer and wastewater upgrade which the City has to do.
It might not be pretty, it's underground, but it can at least meat a threshold of equity.
If you folks got any ethics, toast to that tonight.

Maybe Chairman Jay Carson will tell the Insiders how he and Summers' employee Rick Uldricks are courageously pursuing their lawsuit against Jim O"Bryan, the LO and other yet to be named co-conspirators trying to overthrow the government.cmager wrote:cmager wrote: Who will toast? Maybe Carson will follow that by leading the Insiders in a rousing chorus of "He's the Jolly Good Fellow" to honor Rick Uldricks for ferreting out the "small group" rascals involved in the conspiracy.

They are promoting and have chosen:
1. Lies over truth.
2. Money over healthcare for people.
3. Corporations over people.
You know--the "Greater Good" (My apologies to Mr. Buckley)
Also,
Kevin Butler finally submitted something to the BOE and I have heard the BOE swiftly approved some ballot language yesterday 3 to1. More Butler/Summers backroom stuff.
Stay tuned for the details and language and the issue number being unveiled soon...

Stan,
The CCF is not our common enemy. They are merely taking advantage of the fools who run this city and who would rather rub shoulders with the movers and shakers of a corporation than with their own citizenry. It is what any self-serving corporation would do if given the chance.
The true common enemy is our mayor
and those who are/were on the LHA (Madigan, Bullock, Litten and Summers). Those are really the ones responsible for this mess. None of the give away of our assets for pennies on the dollar would have happened without them pushing for it.

Cameron-- maybe I exaggerate in naming the CCF as an opponent. Maybe, a more correct statement is that the CCF is a metaphor for a predicament that all of us are in. The financial numbers are staggering. The historical dislocation of our community is disconcerting. We are also, caught in a vortex of national health care.
I appreciate and understand your critique of my comments but I think we all are trying to come to grips with what could be described as a monumental financial rip off. Whether or not the CCF is a participant might be determined.
I think, all I'm trying to say is that this is a mess that we have to work our way out of.
