I am sorry you have to go thru this.
Funny thing is when you are the "head/face" of an organization or charity, you honestly lose "you" the person. You become that organization. That is why I am neutral in everything I do. Well what I do in public. What I say in my own house, to my dogs or kids is again in private. I am forever known as the dog girl. 11 years ago I lost "missy" and it is sad.
Right now I really want to be "Missy the girl with the bad-a** jeep" .... (my attempt at humor)
For those trying to discredit a great charity should be ashamed. No matter our feelings towards anyone (and I have to say this...I have NO feelings...I do not know you personally...and I never judge a computer screen) we must not take away from a great organization.

You are smart, Missy. As you said, when you are the face of an organization, it behooves you to be neutral and to be on your best behavior in public.

Corey:

I am sorry to read about your troubles with your foundation. I can attest that none of the people currently associated with Save Lakewood Hospital are doing what you claim. Why would anyone in the SLH group want to harm you when we stand for any all types of good healthcare, including a full service community hospital? I will tell you that the person you cited is not a member of SLH and does not speak for our group. So if you are trying to paint anyone in our group with a broad brush of nastiness so as to infuriate or turn this community against us, it's not going to work. I wish you nothing but the best with your foundation.

Hi Corey

I want to reiterate what Tom and a few others have said. although I have questioned you on the Deck, it does not mean I am not in support of the good works your group does. The Save Lakewood Hospital team is all about comprehensive healthcare options for all residents. Your foundation is designed to support good health.

Please know that I believe that people can duke it out verbally and in writing and it doesn't mean that they hate each other. (It sometimes does make it hard to like each other.) Passions run high on the Lakewood Hospital issue. I have read too much information to ever believe that the closing was anything but a travesty and a huge disservice to Lakewood. OK, people react harshly on the Deck sometimes but it is in the moment and short of really nasty name calling, it should not have a serious impact on the parties involved.

Again, SLH does not support people calling a foundation in the manner you have experienced. We did discuss this at our meeting Sunday and no one there knew anything about your situation. Many of them learned of your foundation for the first time yesterday. We all support healthcare.

Respectfully,

Corey,

I reiterate what Tom, Pam, and others have stated. We in SLH do not, and have not, ever, even suggested to our group (or to anyone, for that matter) that someone malign your organization (or any other organization).

If someone is telling you that, they may have some other motive that is beyond my comprehension.

We have important, professional work to do, we take our work seriously, and we really don't have time to waste on such nonsense. We want to restore our full-service hospital, make it the best it can be, expand our health care services, and restore our rights to choose our health care providers in Lakewood.

I speak for SLH when I say we are unhappy to hear that anybody has contacted you in a malicious manner; especially, if they represented that they were "sent by SLH." Most definitely, they were not.

Respectfully,
Marguerite Harkness
