I am definitely not a lawyer, but this sounds to me more like user protection and rights rather than "corporate" protection and rights.Brian Essi wrote:From the article Bridget posted above: "Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act provides that users and providers of interactive computer services, including the Internet, are immune from civil liability for publishing material written by someone else.5 For example, if an online news publication published an editorial written by an anonymous blogger, the online news source could use this to shield itself from liability. Additionally, Section 230 can be used to shield bloggers who host comments on their blogs.6 Section 230 may even shield you from liability if you make professional edits to the material you publish."
Doesn't this prove that plaintiff and its attorneys suing the the LO and JOB have filed a frivolous lawsuit?

Who is suing the Buzz?Bridget Conant wrote:From the article:
Anyone who posts on the Buzz should be worried because their IP's will be subpoenaed. However, cyberSLAPPS may also have an additional goal – to reveal the identity of the anonymous critic. Once the cyberSLAPP is filed, the plaintiff will subpoena the Website or Internet Service Provider (ISP) to reveal the identity of the anonymous critic, hoping to intimidate others from voicing their opinions in the future.1

Re: SLAPP Lawsuits to Silence Dissent
What's going to be intersting is the fallout.
In their quest to find out who certain posters are on the Buzz, there may be liability on the part of the owner of the Buzz. If he turns over the identities without a fight, he violates the users rights to privacy. In a criminal case, these issues are usually, though not universally, considered subordinate to the need of law enforcement to operate.
But, in a civil action, there are safeguards in place - the owner of the site has to notify the user that their IP is being sought so that they have an opportunity to file a motion to quash - which are usually successful in civil actions.
If the owner hands the information over without providing notice or without himself filing a motion to quash, as is the usual procedure, the users of that site may have a pretty nice lawsuit because he violated their rights to privacy.
I bet this spawns multiple lawsuits.

The name "Build Lakewood" is dead--the dishonest leaders--Summers at the top-- are changing the name thinking they can hide from the lies they spread.
They have been caught and are angry and vindictive spreading hate through low level surrogates.
