According to this article, homeowners on Atkins and Eldred would pay ten percent of the cost of repairs. Not sure if this is the same scope of work that is being done on Edgewater.

Per the Tabloid.com article you cite: "If city officials deem the pilot program a success, the program would eventually be adopted across the entire city." AND "the city hopes to avoid the cost of building expensive storage tunnels for holding water during heavy rain."

So if the pilot is successful, the rest of Lakewood would only pay 10%. If the pilot fails and they dig the storage tunnels, the city pays for the tunnel and the rest of Lakewood homeowners may pay nothing directly. But so far Summers & Co. want the 33 homeowners on my section of Edgewater to pay 100% and hire our own contractors--perhaps the only 33 ever to have to do so.

It is important to note that the city developed the "plan" on my street to get the EPA off their backs and avoid having to incurred legal fees fighting the EPA. So if we 33 homeowners pay for the "plan", we are saving the city and the rest of Lakewood taxpayers legal expenses.

It is an irrational "plan". There hope was to just Bulls__it us and bully us to do their work and pay for it before we figured out about the failure or success of the pilot.

I am told that the water bill has clues but I never get the inserts.

1. "a lot" defined:
"Very many, a large number; also, very much."

Two is not "a lot"--it is either successful or it is not--A or B.

2. Taking from the Poor. It is your crowd that lies, cheats and "steals" from the poor. They took the charitable money from the poor, and gave it to a PAC to mail a bunch of lies to the voters telling them life would be better if they took the rest of the charitable money and gave it to your friends. Your crowd said in their waterfall of lies that if we didn't give them the charitable money, jobs would be lost and taxes would be raised. Guess what? The jobs are gone and taxes will be raised. Your herd of liars, not mine.

Let's see. Let's say a theoretical person on my street pays $16K per year in real estate taxes and $5,000 in income taxes and is being asked to pay $9K for the sewer. Let's also say another person pays $3K per year in real estate taxes and $1,000 in income taxes and has to pay only $900.00.

So one person paying 5X in taxes is asked to pay 10X on the sewer.

I was under the impression that we have a lot of underserved in our community. isn't a fair share supposed to rectify that? spread the wealth and all that jazz?

sorta seems like our residents who live near the lake do not care about our residents in birdtown. or on Madison. or on cohassett. or on any other street south of Lake ave. they are asked to pay a fair share so that everyone will benefit and instead of paying it, they bitch.
