GT Parent Meeting w/ Sup. Patterson Tonight

For everyone who is interested in what's happened to the Gifted program, and the additional changes coming, there is a meeting of concerned parents tonight at Harrison Elementary at 6PM with Superintendent Patterson, the new director of Teaching and Learning, the new GT Coordinator and the new principal of Grant, which is where the program will be moving to this coming August.

There is also a new Facebook group called Lakewood GT Families where a lot of information, questions and concerns are being exchanged. Join up if you would like to participate, which is a really good idea if you have kids in the program, or younger kids heading in that direction.

A meeting for all affected families to discuss the changes, allow parents to express concerns and to answer your questions. Meeting with next Director of Teaching & Learning, Dr. Christine Palumbo, new Gifted Coordinator, Terri Sigler, and Kaitlyn Turner, who will succeed Philis Muth as principal at Grant next year. Assistant Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio also will be present. Superintendent Patterson will also address the opportunity to extend the open enrollment period during the meeting.
