LHS Barnstormers Drama Club Spring Play

Post by Alex Belisle »

I had the very good fortune to gain permission (thanks Christine Gordillo) to photograph their last rehearsal before their shows starting today (4/5) and running through Sun. (4/8). What a fine group of talented actors and musicians both! Even the stage crew and audio/lighting personnel are nonpareil. The photo of this young male actor sitting backstage waiting for his entrance with such a contemplative serene look has an interesting backstory. If you look carefully at the photo, you'll notice that both his makeup and fine facial features might make you think this is a portrait of a female. I did and it proved to be quite embarrassing for me over on Twitter where all of the young people hang out. I quickly changed all of my pronouns in all of my posts and was forgiven. His mother tweeted: " . . . our son- so beautiful the photog thought he was a girl. "
