Roller Derby, anyone?

Post by Alex Belisle »

I first met these ladies at the Good Goat Gallery here on Madison and they invited me to their 1st opening game. Here's the shot they liked the best.

Burning River Rolling Girls are awesome!
They've traditionally had many Lakewood women on the team.

From the archives, here's an article I wrote in 2007....

I've seen the Roller Derby girls in action and it is fun. I especially like their colorful "stage names".

A lot of them have tats on their knuckles and all over; most of them were more than willing to let me take photos of "all" of their tattoos ;-) When I first met them in an art gallery setting, I really liked them and I like them even more after watching them do what they love.
