Bullock Crows About an "Orchestrated Talking Point" Conspiracy and "Grandstanding"

Post by Brian Essi »

At last night's City Council meeting Bullock claimed to be a victim of what he said was a conspiracy of citizens armed with "orchestrated talking points."

He was backed into a corner on a series of falsehoods he had spread so he retreated the role of a victim.

He personally attacked Kevin Young for "grandstanding" when Mr. Young was talking about his own father's death.

Imagine that---Bullock:
1. Lakewood's King of Grandstanding.
2. Lakewood's Talking Point Parrot.
3. Lakewood's Filibuster Blowhard.

......and Bullock is crowing about a talking point conspiracy and someone "grandstanding" about a personal family tragedy.

Remember last fall, when Bullock and his Build Lakewood buddies orchestrated an assault on a Dennis Kucinich press conference at the hospital?--Blers came with posters and pickets while Bullock read talking points written for him that contained the exact words written on the Blers' pickets.

So here is Bullock's problem: there was no orchestrated effort or talking points by anyone last night---it was just a group of citizens exercising their First Amendment rights---Bullock doesn't like that so he invented his victimhood ploy to distract from the truth. That's Bullock. That's bad government.

Here is a photo of Bullock's obnoxiousness at the Kucinich press conference.
These antics are a small part of what make him "Lakewood's Ted Cruz".

Bullock, like Summers is a democrat, so he can't be a Ted Cruz. I would say that Bullock acts like a Hillary Clinton or a Bernie Sanders. A large portion of Trump protesters are Bernie Sanders folks. With their shirts, signs and yelling, "Bernie, Bernie". They want their freedom of speech, but, Donald Trump can't have his. These were the same lovely people that in Chicago sent five police officers to the hospital, and were also on the third floor of the parking garage damaging cars with baseball bats and hammers. Yes, the police reported they had Bernie shirts on. There were many radio calls coming into dispatch that Bernie folks were beating up on Trump supporters. Did Bernie take any responsibility, no! Did Bernie denounce these actions? No. So, actually Bullock is more like a Bernie, he feels he can do anything he wants and not have to take any responsibility for it!

Bullock's style is exactly like Cruz.

*Cruz is detested by his GOP colleagues in the Senate. Same goes for Bullock on Council. He's been there longer than anyone, and can't even get elected to a leadership position.

*Both have little or no relationship to the truth on numerous issues

*Bullock shares Cruz's condescending tone

*Bullock and Cruz are both incredibly unctuous

*Bullock and Cruz both harbor grand political ambition (although Rafael is much better at executing his plan than Tom, who is still stuck on City Council after nearly a decade).

Lori,

You have to excuse me as I do not have the background with Summers and Bullock as other people do. I have only known Mayor Summers since 2nd grade as a friend, back when it took more than a quick click on a single website. He is a Republican has been his whole life, his family was. He believes that people need to tend for themselves, and that business will save communities especially if tax is low. This flies in the face of the very thing that made Lakewood one of the better community for decades, and has been talked about here for 12 years. One of the biggest reasons a city retains and attracts residents is CITY SERVICES. As Dr, Tom Buyer has often spoke of, cut services, cut quality of services and you have hurt the community.

Of course people hate high taxes, unless you explain why they are the way they are, then it makes sense. Ask the average Lakewoodite if they would spend $2.00 a week on backyard trash pick-up and you would be surprised how many will say yes. What upsets residents is when their services are cut to give 5 Guys money to move here. When the people at various properties get to pay 80% less in taxes for decades while the rest of us carry the load on their new homes.

I have known Tom Bullock since the first week he walked into Lakewood to live here. Bullock is simply a politician. There is no core beliefs left in him. He was a hardcore democrat, then got involved in running for office, from that point on, ideology out the window, say anything to quiet residents, and do anything, ANYTHING, I mean ANYTHING to move one millimeter up the politician ladder. Political mercenary.

I am amused at while it is fine for Council to piss all over sunshine laws, even flaunt ignoring them, he is upset when Americans exercise their LAW GIVEN FREEDOMS.

Hardly the stance of a Democrat, more like the self admitted Neo-Cons Mike has advising him.

But then I try to take politics our of this nightmare, as it has little to do with being selfish, conniving, and unethical. Any human can do it.

The Mike Deneen/ Lori Allen exchanges regarding political affiliation of local politicians is priceless and totally funny. I love it. This particular post by Lori reminds me of a scene from the classic movie Princess Bride. The battle of wits.

Amy,
I have been trying to do this, but, Mike Deenen doesn't want to give it up. Summers has voted democrat for over fourteen years. I have previously posted the proof here on the Deck. Sorry Jim, it is what it is. If you want to take politics out of this nightmare, then you need to talk to Mike Deenen, or is this a double standard again?

Red and blue robots! I hope neither of them get hurt, they will have to wait behind Paul Newman.

As a moderator, I very respectfully counsel: Stay on topic. Attack issues, not people. Be kind.

It can also be a form of keyboard/screen syndrome. We are not face-face; email and social media create different behaviors and responses. If a point is worth making, it's often worth making not only within seconds or minutes, but even hours from now. And in that time, one might find a different frame or phrase with which to write. Write, pause, edit, pause, decide to send yes/no.

Personally, I tend to be aware of but ignore party labels. My expectation is that a politician will choose the label that gives him/her the most advantage. It's their level of corruption, goodwill, care for the common good, and actions that matter to me.

Mr. Mager,

Again, why is it OK for some Save Lakewood Hospital members and their affiliates to make everything here on the Deck political, and not OK for others to respond likewise? SLH had better hire themselves a good P.R. person, as some of the ones that post here want to give it out, but can't take it in. I believe a good P.R. would be able to give the group guidance. Many members have already left SLH. I am sure one of the main reasons could be the political B.S. and, at times, attitudes. This does not make the group look good. In fact, after reading many of the posts on here, one would think SLH is a political group.

FWIW.

I didn't take attendance or count heads, but it seems like there have been as many or more people at the last few meetings.

This is interesting. I have been told by several members that they desperately need help because "we don't have anybody anymore."

Someone just told me that 49 people attended the meeting this past Sunday.
