The best "POSER of 2015" should clearly be awarded to Corey Rossen.

After a brief time in rehab away from the Deck due to Dr. Jimmy's RX, he returned to the Deck as a Christmas present from heaven for all of us to enjoy.

Hey Internet Muscles, do your research and look up my initial posts. I was on your side. Was. I even signed your petitions, but you have proven to pursuade your own followers to jump ship. You should be very proud of yourself.

How many others have you persuaded to defeat you? Which they have. Apparently it was a lot.

Do your research on my persuasion tactics...I had none. I was only asking questions and not trying to pursuade anyone, any views or any votes.

I am quite proud of the nearly $100,000 my charity has donated to the Children's Hospital for Pediatric Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic but I am not sure how that relates to Lakewood Hospital. I don't think that our contribution to the PediPump, which is an artificial heart pump for newborns with heart disease, has anything to do with this. I think you are stretching too far to make some kind of joke or point or maybe you are just trying too hard.

What truth are you referring to? Have you researched my initial posts yet?

Quite frankly this back and forth with you has gotten pretty lame. My theory is that since you have lost all of your battles in 2015 you are seeking me as your target. Pretty lame.

Maybe you need to fill your time better. If you're an attorney maybe you should seek a client. If you're a woodworking then buy some lumber. A mechanic? Get a car.

If you're a terrible attorney, a bad woodworker and lousy mechanic maybe you should consider taking some classes. Maybe then you will succeed in your battles of 2016.

Perhaps a little constructive thinking would be in order here.

As a school teacher, I've had to break up fights in school a time or two before they escalated out of control, so I'll dust off the old school teacher's mantle, and try to do that again.

First of all, I very much admire people here for standing up for their ideas, and having the moral courage to express them publicly. That said, a number of individuals are starting to get a bit overheated, so I really do believe that it's time for a time-out.

Now everyone, back to your seats.

Anytime that agendas overrule human relationships, someone needs to throw out a caution flag, if not a penalty flag, onto the field. These days, in just about every interaction that we humans have anymore, there seems to be that danger. Toleration and compromise seem to have become dirty words once again. Honestly, as a student of history, the times we live in remind me of the strident times of the 1930's, when the world was ripped apart by political and other differences, and we all know how that turned out.

When agendas are placed on a higher priority than people, the result is inevitably conflict, dissension, and oftentimes, escalated verbal or physical abuse, and ultimately, violence.

Are there things worth fighting for? Perhaps, but there are constructive ways to "fight". As an often-teased child, I had tried fighting back and sometimes I won, and sometimes I lost, but by far, the most effective retort that I ever used was suggested to me by my mom, after a particularly nasty bully had read me the riot act one day.

Mom suggested that the next time the bully went after me, that I should turn to him and say "May God forgive you" and then, walk away. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard, but I decided to try it anyway. I was not prepared for what followed.

The bully stopped in his tracks, and right there in the school hallway, started to cry his eyes out. Next thing I knew, he was effusive in his apologies to me, and started sharing what had been done in the past to him! The kid really changed his life, right then and there. It was amazing. He sort of became my protector, although as word got around, for some reason, I needed protection less and less.

See, conflict inevitably escalates, but caring can escalate too.

This hospital thing has taken a terrible toll on all of us, but please, let's all think about the consequences of what we say and do in this world, especially online. Other good advice once given to me was that some people leave a legacy in life while others leave a trail.

Advocate if you must, persuade us if you will, but not at the expense of others.

My choice is Brian Essi. After working with editors at the Newscorp Group of NYC newspapers (WSJournal, NYPost, Bronx Times et al) I appreciate the dedicated research and tenacious attitude about getting to the truth. His many articles of evidence clearly display his investigative skills and desire to get to the truth. Readers of his posts voiced their interpretations which is an essential piece of our democracy but at least the evidence was put forth, for all to read.

In speaking with him and others, I warned him that much of his work would be in vain, since cognitive dissonance is the engine that drives opinions in social media these days.

Although his rhetoric and syntax was vociferous and strident at times, I admire his steadfast passion for his calling.

Spending thousands of his hours, and a bunch of cash on fight he had no dog in.
Showed up at my door, to shut me up. He has, his background and grasp of facts in this deal is staggering.
Fearless, and the most misunderstood person in the city. He has risen from the yacht club to become a legendary figure in Lakewood.
Years from now, the city will realize just how hard he worked at other options for the city he loves.

Alex, you working with Brian in 2016 would be excellent.

Well, this thread didn’t go exactly as I had imagined but that is the nature of The Observation Deck. You can’t control it. Nor would I want to. And that is not to say that I wouldn't like to see change.

Here are my thoughts of Best Observer Stuff of 2015.

A. The Best LO article of 2015 goes to Meg for her article about "People Money and Things In order of priority."

Bravo to Meg for nailing the core issue that faced us in 2015 and is facing Lakewood in 2016.

C. The Best Reaction to a Post in 2015 goes to David Anderson

Being self-centered, I think my best post of 2015 was my "Blood On Your Hands Post" (below)

But only because it provoked 2 important reactions:
1. Blers exposed their hypocrisy by running to the police in a vain attempt to silence me---they could not bear to be called out on the immorality of their cause. Madigan, Beebe and various public officials participated in the "reaction" that exposed them for what they are. Madigan admitted to me and Chief Malley that she had contact with the police concerning my post.
2. It ultimately got David Anderson to callout Madigan in an open Council meeting and expose her for what most of us already knew.

The most important result was that Anderson did it in an open public forum.

If a post on the Deck can get a reaction out of a Council President and motivate another Councilman to stand up against her, it gives me hope for true public deliberation and debate among Councilmembers in the future.
