Museum of Divine Statues - Must See

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

This past Sunday my wife and I took a break from life and went up to 12905 Madison Avenue to walk through, The Museum of Divine Statues, presented and preserved by Lou McClung, owner of Lusso cosmetic company. Lusso is the make-up of the stars, no kidding. A favorite of make-up artists around the world but especially in Mew York, and Los Angles where it has built on name on quality and ease of use.

In the old St. Hedwig Church, Lou has brought bot his love for art and religion, and his amazing abilities in make up, lighting into this project. While I am not as religious as many, well most, the dramatic presentation, and the loving care of the entire building makes this a must see for everyone.

The area has lost so many churches, and so much history it is good knowing Lou and his crew are out there saving what they can. Each statue has a booklet on who was the artist, who the statue or artifact is from or supposed to be, the way it was made and preserved, and the church it was taken out of. You can get a free tablet to read the QR codes, and it really ads not subtracts from the entire experience.

a little something for everyone...

That should keep the kids talking for weeks.

I would show more photos but they really do not do the work of Lou credit. They are amazing in person.

Open Sundays or by appointment, it is a must see in Lakewood, Ohio

Thank you Lou, Mom and crew you do amazing work.

Also if you want to impress the woman in your life, go next-door to Lusso, and show her you care with what many claim ar the best cosmetics on the market.

Nice photos and thanks for giving me a heads up on this place. I plan to go and take some photos myself. Maybe some with my infinite depth of field camera (Lytro Illum)

I never knew this place was there. What beautiful pictures. Perhaps when Cleveland has their tour of churches next year, they could add the museum to the list of stops. I am planning on going to see this.
