You drifted, but I get your drift.

This thread was about why we should not trust CCF, but it could easily apply to why at least 48% of voters don't trust the government to decide the future of healthcare for them.

To answer your first question, if an elected leader never cared if we trusted him, then he induced votes by falsely representations---it would be equally hard to restore that "trust" because it was one sided to begin with i.e. not mutual.
