Just curious, so you think it would be better to lie about service, quality, expense, etc. for any new Lakewood Business?

How does that serve Lakewoodites?

Many have pointed out, chain or not, it is quality and price.

Also discussed here, and I know you know this to be true, it sometimes takes months to get a new restaurant or bar, where they actually envisioned it to be when they sat down to plan it. Some never make it, others, the change is drastic often, deadly to the business.

Low hanging fruit would be, grab a new place sell them ads, and do the revue. I prefer to give them a story when they are ready, and a revue at the 6 month mark. We might not be the first, but we are the most honest.

No. I do think many good places go unmentioned. It is always easier to criticize than pay respects in cyber world and the real world. For example: How many times have you bought a new bike and said, "Wow, this is a great bike - I should go online and write a positive review of it"? Compared with, "Wow, this bike is terrible, I better tell someone about it. Maybe I should tell everyone. Maybe I should I write the BBB. Etc"

I do like how I am being criticized for a positive post. I love this place!

I never said you should lie, but I do like how you pose the question as if that is what I am implying! Basically, the "when did you stop beating your wife" question.

I have always pointed out when you blast incoming businesses for opening their doors.

Just curious, why do you like empty storefronts instead of filled ones?

You forgot service, cleanliness and friendliness.
Just curious, why do you like dirty places with unfriendly, bad service?

The process can be brutal, I know.

You just reviewed them without all the things you just mentioned (story, ready, 6 months, etc). Simple comments, words, and opinions cast over social media are construed as a review. You basically just reviewed them against all of your listed criteria. Glad it was a good non-review.

If it was about the money, it would be grabbing new businesses and selling them ads. Believe me in some other communities we do that. But in Lakewood many businesses are already over extended when they open up. Look we had two restaurants close before they opened in the past two years. It seems like a shake down to me, though the Sun Papers and Scene do that. Pay to play.

The same discussion I give everyone, including B2B and Urban Foods, "Let's get you established, and on solid footing, then we can talk about ads."

Corey I cannot explain or control what many see as a review, a story or anything else so why bother with it here. When I look at social media, I see a bunch of sheepeople and thugs with an occasional rare good comment. Social media has as predicted turned into anti-social media. Yelp paying people for reviews, FB friends of friends posting great stuff, and enemies of others posting hideous stuff.

I am not here to sell papers, or get rich, just help people get their views out. You should read the white paper. In the mission statement the word fun appears three times, and news never appears. In the white paper it is close to 2 to 1.

I've never mentioned anything about selling ads or fleecing their money...so it must be on your conscience.

I was making a positive comment on this social media outlet about seeing a good Welcome Wagon...the rest is your conscience.

I was talking about how others jump on a new business.

Not accusing you.
