Out Of Town Donations Fuel Skindell Campaign
About 49% of Skindell donations reported on the latest [edit] campaign report are from out of towners, while 44% is to Summers. Just clarifying things.

Now that I'm home and able to really take a look at Skindell's report there are quite a few repeats from Lakewood, some 3 times. I'll have to make a count minus those. Hopefully I'll get some time later to sort it all out but looking like Skindell might be over the 50% mark on donations from out of town on this campaign. To add there is also a nice $19k+ that's reported as cash so who knows where that came from.

Am I supposed to take from this that having somewhere between 49-53% of your donations come from out of town is damning, but 44% is A-OK?

Considering that Mike Skindell has represented us at the state level for more than a dozen years, I don't think this is surprising or any kind of a problem. One of the maps I saw on another thread showed a significant cluster of contributions in the Columbus area. I would expect that with a state senator.

Mr. Heckler is comparing apples to oranges.
The map he shared on another thread has nothing to do with this election. Again, I don't believe that Mr. Heckler was trying to be deceitful. He just did not know that fact and then understood that he was comparing apples to oranges when that fact was pointed out by another poster.
Here, Mr. Heckler's title is misleading because he really does not know whether more money came from inside of Lakewood or outside of Lakewood in this election.
Mr. Summers may very well have a few big money donations of $250, $1,000, or $5,000. I don't know as I didn't study his report.
Mr. Skindell may very well have a lot of smaller donations of $10, $20, and the like from working class families similar to when President Obama was running for POTUS. I don't know as I didn't study his report.
Again, I have not studied either campaign report so I don't have any opinion on this issue.
FWIW

About 64% of Mayor Summers donations came from people outside of Lakewood. I am referencing total dollars and not total contributors.todd heckeler wrote:About 49% of Skindell donations reported on the latest [edit] campaign report are from out of towners, while 44% is to Summers. Re: Out Of Town Donations Fuel Skindell Campaign
I decided to not bother with the Deck any longer but I feel I need to respond since I made this thread, then I'm out for good. I have both reports from this election, this election for Mayor of Lakewood, which I received from the Board of Elections. I counted the donors from Lakewood and the ones outside, simple hash marks for one of the other, no dollar amounts attached and the the result is what you see above. If you would like to run through them and add dollar amounts you are welcome to do so. There is another report that I missed and was just sent to me submitted June 30th which looks to include 100 or more Lakewood donors and a few, maybe 3-4, out of town. This was in response to Bill Call's post, http://lakewoodobserver.com/forum/viewt ... =7&t=22262 which he states "About 64% of the Mayors donations reported on his last campaign report came from out of towners." and "I suspect that the report due after the election will show even more out of town money. What are the buying?"
Take care, it's going to be a great 3rd of November this year.

Thank you for the clarification, Bill.
