Congress Candidates
Is the LO doing a candidate section for those running for Congress? I was thoroughly impressed after meeting Barbara Ferris and would love a breakdown on where each candidate stands on issues.

Here's the commercial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZOypGw3wxA
"Missing key votes on predatory lending and veterans health care."
Haha, this comes from a candidate who's taking in over $230,000 of corporate money from developers, bankers, investors, against the Congressman who put his office next to the Senior Citizen buildings for that very reason. To be there for the seniors whenever they need help.
"I'm Joe Cimperman, and I approve this message"
Right after he lied that Congressman Kucinich missed 300+ votes when in fact he missed 131. That's less than Stephanie tubbs-jones who supports Cimperman (and Hillary Clinton) and represents the 11th district.

My bad,
Stephanie Tubbs-Jones is from the 11th District.
Still, when your supporters are missing more votes than your competition, and you're running political commercials about how your competition is "missing", isn't that a bit hypocritical?

Thanks Ivor. I am certainly not looking at that man for Congress!!! What I have learned about Barbara Ferris though, is very impressive and I would love to hear more. I know I am in Dennis camp here but hearing all sides is nice!

What impressed me was her extensive background in non-profit work, including intensive work with women in this country and impoverished countries. Not to mention her masters degree in Public Administration and running non-profits. Of course her work in Peace Corp in Africa impressed me because my sister does that and I know the commitment and dedication and complete love and compassion for others that involves, not to mention sacrifice. The fact that she has significant experience in community leadership on Boards and with churches added to that.
Obviously I am impressed with very different qualities in people than you Shawn, but that's what makes the world go 'round isn't it? I am looking for a NON politician, a real person with real experience. I think this area needs that.

simple typing error. Thanks for pointing it out!Ryan Patrick Demro wrote:Ivor,
I am not disagreeing with you that it is hypocritical. I certainly don't support Cimperman as he is only marginally more competent that Kucinich.
My point was to clarify that the U.S. Constitution only allows for one representative per congressional district, not one or more.

Residency
re Demro claim that US Constitution only allows for one representative per congressional district :
True and Obvious that only 1 representative per each congressional district BUT
NO requirement in the US Constitution that said representative MUST LIVE in "their" district : only that he/she lives in the state of which the district is a part of .
From residency requirements : Kucinich Cimperman Ferris etc all eligible .
In fact Kucinich , Tubbs-Jones and LaTourette could ALL live in the same house in Lakewood or Parma or Columbus etc and still represent their respective Congressional districts .

Now that would certainly be an interesting house...Dennis J Kampe wrote: In fact Kucinich , Tubbs-Jones and LaTourette could ALL live in the same house in Lakewood or Parma or Columbus etc and still represent their respective Congressional districts .
