The Morning After the Night Before

Post by sharon kinsella »

Here we are, a morning dreary,
Many are sick from too much beery.

All awaken to new beginnings,
Promising to do no sinning.

Some will resolutions make,
Within a week many will break.

But if at first we don't succeed,
We'll still try, that's good indeed.

Happy New Year.

Just thought I try and start the deck off with good thoughts.

Happy New Year Sharon, and everyone else!

Nice job on the poetry, as well!

Good point on emphasizing the positive too! :D

I truly believe that life is much too short to be around negativity. People certainly can have their opinions, but they can certainly express them in ways constructive; and thereby (I believe), with far greater effectiveness.

Otherwise, it just becomes an exercise in trying to determine whether old acquaintance indeed, should be forgot....

I believe that it was the great late educator and lecturer Leo Buscaglia who pointed out that we need to be, not so much human "beings", but rather human "becomings"; on our way to better things.

I certainly hope in this new year, that we'll all work on that.

There is much to envision, much to realize for the New Year.

Best wishes to all for a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
