Just Plain Sad

Since I have sincerely stuck my neck out, on this board and in one on one conversations about town, I expected to be harassed. That is something I considered when doing this and decided I really didn't care. My goal in sticking my neck out and saying what I honestly believe to be true, is just doing the next right thing. That is and always will be the impetus behind all of my actions.

Some of the attacks on me have been low blows, so what? None of have stopped me and they won't.

But the saddest attempt to harass me was the posting on the Cleveland.com, Lakewood Blog.

I was perusing Cleveland.com to read up on today's news from the PD standpoint and decided to check out the Lakewood blog. Some master of wit posted on the thread about Demro's fundraising, this amazingly well thought out slam "Sharon, what's your point?" and then published my email address.

If this is the best someone can do to harass me, they should hang it up.

No barrage of emails, not even one. Just plain sad.

I had a similar run-in with someone from that board, that goes by the screen name 'applejohn'. He was posting the same idiotic comments about the library, how he thought the place was a 'palace' and so on. Myself and others continued to refute his remarks, pointing him to facts such as the HAPLR index naming LPL the #1 library in the country, and other facts that basically refuted his remarks.

The last straw was when he personally attacked me and my fiancee.

While his account was either deleted or banned, he continues to make the same remarks elsewhere.

It's really sad what people will say when they hide behind screen names.

Yes, unfortunately there are some jerks out there. People should be able to share their opinions openly without the fear of personal retaliation.

But jerks aren't just confined to people hiding behind fake names. Although more prevalent, they also exist in the light of day. And sometimes they are in both places...

That could be true, but there are some MAJOR differences.

People using real names can be held for liable and slander. This is not true with faux names. The dark closest of the weak, unjust and misinformed. People using real names on boards filled with faux names are just out of their minds. This is a war never won.

I have seen all too often what happens when one good meaning person enters the realm of faux names. One person posts a comment, ad the hoards (usually one person using many names) attacks, attacks and attacks.

In my entire life I have never understood it. But I too had to learn the lesson the hard way. Now as I look back, I have no idea why people would enter the shadow world. Nothing gained, everything lost.

Just say no.

Now this is pathetic!!! I have been called out on another forum. I have never posted on it or even read it until today. Some people have some serious growing up to do. This is truly sad. I think we all know who it is...and that's all that matters. I have nothing to hide!

It's really interesting that some little groups think it's okay to hit someone, but when it ricochets they are all appalledl

I'm sorry but IT WAS NOT ME!! nor anyone I know. A friend called me and told me that they saw my name. Not a lot of people spell it with a Z so they figured it was me that YOU were talking to. So I looked and low and behold there was my name. Until today this was the only forum that I have ever posted on. The only one that I even really read.

From things that I did read on the other forum "today"...it seems to me that you have multi personalities. One thread your saying one thing and the other is something totally contradicting.

Everyone has a personal life and as someone stated before doesn't need to be aired out on forums unless they so chose to. Why don't you stop pointing fingers at everyone else and find something better to do with your free time.

Sad is an understatement. Just because one is an adult simply because their age states so, doesn't mean there isn't some growing up to do.

And you don't see your hypocrisy in this one? How can you admit that you say things to stir things up or to be more self righteous because it's the next right thing to do, then cry foul when someone responds. You've been complaining about how persecuted you are yet you continue to act all holier than thou about your views being right. I particularly like when you claim to know what someone's intent or hidden meaning is with little to no evidence, the section 8 discussions are a prime example. How that got published in print while crime statistics needed to be fact checked still has me scratching my head. You're free to say whatever you like, the hypocrisy comes when you expect that others have less right to do so.
So that I can avoid being so pompous as to think I understand your reasoning, would you care to share what you hoped to accomplish by posting your disapproval about a forum that few if anyone here seems to be involved in?

Hypocrite - that would be complaining about racism and then being a racist. I've done what I've set out to do and if you all think I speak for just myself - you are wrong. You see I have nothing to lose.

I will continue to do what I think is right - I suggest all of you do the same.

I don't need you to speak for me. There's no creditbility in offering your voice for others and claiming you are a voice for others when there isn't anyone to back that up....whom exactly are you speaking for, if not just for yourself?

You have nothing to lose...except maybe happiness and contentment. You really sound like a miserable person. I hope posting on message boards and stirring controversary isn't your only joy in life.

By the way Shawn - I have the crime statistics in my hand - you can get it to. It is the citistat report by the Lakewood Police Dept. I've had this report and did not write anything about crime until I did.
