Boys Varsity XC Results from Canton

The boys Varsity finished their race several minutes ago here at the GlenOak Golden Eagle Invitational in Canton, Ohio.

The official boys results are Lkwd as a team finished 4th out of 18 schools.

Makorobondo Salukombo (Dee) came in first place uncontested! Dee's time was 16:29.64 for 5k (3.1 miles)

Other Varsity team times are as follows:
18th Nick Meeson 17:38.70
22nd Tim Kelly 17:45.12
37th Casey Meeson 18:15.06
40th Jay Toole 18:26.03
77th Mike Andreani 19:24.91
86th Jacob Ott 19:44.81

Great Start for the Varsity Boys, should be a great year. Pat Joyce also finished 2nd in the JV/Open Division, and the varsity girls finished 10th out of 18 teams.

Dee set a course record today! :D

It was spectacular!

He then jumped in the car and traveled back to Lakewood to play for the LHS Varsity Boys Soccer Team this afternoon.

Bummer both the JV and Varsity Soccer Teams lost to Valley Forge. :cry:

Tim Kelley, a Senior, and the 3rd guy on the Cross Country Team today is a first year Cross Country runner. He ran the most amazing debut race! :D

I had to leave Canton right after the girls varsity race. Turns out I am still not home and haven't been able to do anything with pictures. Hopefully I will be home later today and upload a couple pics.

Big Thanks to Joe for keeping us posted on LHS XC. Please keep it up!

Also, if anyone out there would like to post on other fall sports, please feel free to do so. As always, articles for the print paper are always welcome, too.

Some say Dee (Makorobondo Salukombo) doesn't even try when he is running. I think I agree.

Here he is at the end of the 2nd lap (of 3) with a sizable lead. He's smiling!
