Spam. How many do you get per day?

Post by Mark Crnolatas »

While this question isn't going to change the crime stats, or make anyone wealthy, it's interesting and part of our everyday computer world. I just read that approx 80% or more of email is spam sent daily.

How many spams do you get per day? I am currantly getting from 50 - 150 or thereabouts. The solution for me at this point is to start a new email address that I only give out to certain people, and that also has a "trick" email user name.

Anyone care to mention how many spams you get? What do you do to keep the numbers down?

The only foolproof way for the average user is a good disposable email address service, like www.spamex.com I used to use it.

Currently I get about one spam per month, using a variation of the disposable email address service on my own domain.

I receive spam about once or possibily twice a week on the familys 6 e-mail accounts, the bulk of spam is caught in the spam filter provided for free by my internet provider.
